Theresa Davidson: A Story of Dedication and Impact

Theresa Davidson has been with the Electrical Joint Training Committee (EJTC) for almost eight years and our ELTT Administrator since June 2017. During her time here, she has played a crucial role in shaping the ELTT program, overseeing the entire program lifecycle. Her dedication and commitment to the success and well-being of our students has made a significant impact on the success of the program.

With 27 years of prior experience working for the insulator’s union in Vancouver, Theresa brought a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her role at the EJTC. Her efforts have been particularly instrumental in supporting the growing number of women entering the trades and promoting diversity among people pursuing careers in the electrical industry.

Theresa has greatly enjoyed working with a supportive team at the EJTC, including staff members and teachers who genuinely care about the students’ success. She finds it especially rewarding when the ELTT students complete the program and are hired as union apprentices. She has had the pleasure of seeing many of her students finish their apprenticeship and become immersed in their new role as journey people. Theresa is particularly proud of the ACCESS Indigenous students, all of whom started with the ELTT program. Seeing many of them progress through our apprenticeship program to become Red Seal electricians has been a definite highlight.

At the end of this year, Theresa will be retiring. As she looks forward to this exciting new chapter of her life, Theresa plans to indulge her love for travel, with a special focus on exploring the beauty of Italy while still enjoying the comforts of home here in Canada.

As the EJTC reflects on her contribution here over the last eight years, her legacy will be undeniable – one that will continue to inspire those who have had the privilege of working alongside her. All of us at the EJTC are grateful for her contributions and the lasting impression she has made.

Happy retirement Theresa!
